The History of the Testaccio area has an ancient history. Its origin lies in the Roman Empire thanks to its proximity to the river Tiber, which till today runs through the entire city of Rome. In fact, in the district in Roman times, there was the harbor of Emporium, a strategic port to get in the Caput Mundi the most important raw materials such as marble, wine and wheat.
