First post of 2010. We make a balance of the high season just ended. In December, the industry recorded a 3% increase compared to 2008. The tourists are increasing but they want to spend less. The result is a decrease in revenue for hotels on one side and from the other side a real boom for bed and breakfasts and guesthouses.

If we consider only the segment of the bed and breakfast in Rome there is a +8%, but american tourists continue to suffer the presence of strong euro.
 
In general, we can consider the cultural offer in Rome very good. In particular if we compare it with the major European tourism industry, such as Paris and London, that in recent months are showing many structural weaknesses in this sector.

However Rome is preparing to attract new visitors with a rich calendar of events for January and February. On this Magazine we will continue to update you about events and concerts planned.

Good results also for the first New Year's Eve for B&B Roma Network: our website to book bed and breakfast Rome, in december, has received 13,806 page views and 3470 unique visitors.
